Dedicated to providing quality care to veterans and rehabilitating residents to achieve independent functioning, the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home maintains several locations, including the one in Murfreesboro. At the Murfreesboro location, residents are encouraged to participate in various programs and activities to promote social interaction, build physical skills, and improve their emotional well-being. Daily recreational, intellectual, and cultural activities are designed based on the capabilities and interests of the residents currently staying at the home.
In addition to daily activities, the home takes part in community events, including the Nursing Home Olympics, celebrations on Veterans Day, and the annual Humboldt Strawberry Festival. Residents are also welcome to participate in the home’s resident council, through which they can share their opinions about quality-of-life issues and draw attention to the concerns and interests of all residents.
